Westconsin Credit Union gives parents free child ID kit

(WEAU) - Westconsin Credit Union partnered up with Safe Assured ID Wednesday to give parents greater piece of mind if their child disappears.

Professionals were on site at their new credit union office to take video and pictures of each child along with digital fingerprinting. It’s a free program and all the data was stored on a ready-to-use mini-cd kit and given to the families. The cd is encrypted so when it is given to police, only they can read the information.

Vice President of Westconsin’s Eau Claire office Bob Binczak told us they have “two more scheduled in the spring. Actually there will be three next year. Right now this is the fourth time we're doing it. We're doing it here in Eau Claire. We did it last year in Amery, New Richmond, and Menomonie."

Safe assured id stores no information and retains no database at these events.
