Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) -- Three days into his seasonal job at Club Choice Fundraising and Tony Grabrwska could not be happier.
"It's a lot of hours, a lot of good opportunity," he said.
A job that is only open part of the year means more money in his pocket.
"A lot of saving potential, I've got children, Christmas is coming up," he said.
He and his co-workers are packing pizzas, and are paid by each unit they pack.
"So the faster they work, the more money they make," said Marilyn Hartung, the Human Resources Director at Club Choice.
It is just one of many seasonal jobs available at Club Choice, and a small part of a bigger picture.
"Certain companies are hiring a lot this time of year," said Carlene Volbrecht with the Eau Claire County Job Center.
She says there are a number of seasonal jobs in the Chippewa Valley waiting to be filled. Many at retail and call centers.
"For the most part the jobs are on the internet, where you go online and fill out the application and submit it electronically," she added.
She says the net is the best place to look rather than walking into a store and asking for an application.
Seasonal jobs cater to people of all ages, high school students to those in retirement, especially with a flexible schedule.
"You like working 2nd or 3rd shift, it's good to stock the shelves as the stores get ready for opening," she added.
Kim Bahr works full-time elsewhere and working Thursday night is a little extra that will go toward the holidays.
"Fun money, play money, and I enjoy doing it, its fun," she added.
All in a day's work, or night's work.
"I like to work, you're never bored. Keeps you busy," Grabrwska said. "I would work all night if I could.
