(WEAU) - Voters in two Western Wisconsin communities weighed in on school referendums.
In Rice Lake, the school district asked for more than $20 million to remodel its science labs and address space needs at three of the four elementary schools and the middle school.
The referendum narrowly failed, with the no's getting 53% of the vote.
The Whitehall School District, however, saw its referendum pass Tuesday night. It was asking for about $12.5 million to pay for the cost of construction and equipment for a new elementary school.
The uncanvassed final results are in and the referendum passed with 63% of the vote.
