WINONA, Minn. (WEAU) -- Police arrested a man who's accused of firing a gun after drinking.
The Winona Police Department said it went to 276 Center Street just before 7:45 Thursday night.
That’s where officers found two people inside a vehicle parked in the alley.
They say 28-year-old Aaron Rudolphi had talked about shooting at people near a fence across from the alley.
However, police determined the people Rudolphi talked about didn’t exist.
The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old woman convinced Rudolphi to put his gun away.
Police say they found a loaded rifle and a box of ammunition in the trunk of the vehicle.
Five shell casings were also found spent in the porch area.
Police said there’s about $1,000 of damage to a fence and a tarp at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from at least one of the rounds.
Rudolphi was arrested, taken to the Winona County Jail and held at a detox facility.
Multiple charges have been referred to the Winona County District Attorney’s Office including reckless discharge of a firearm and first degree criminal damage to property.
Police said no charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle.
