DECISION 2012: Wintry mix of rain, snow heading to the polls

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Wisconsin voters will deal with a wintry mix of rain and snow as they head to the election polls around the state.

An inch or more of snow is forecast for northern Wisconsin, with cold rain to the south. It could be the coldest and rainiest weather in Wisconsin in more than three decades of presidential elections.

Observers say weather is a factor in voter turnout. When President Obama was elected in 2008, about 69 percent of eligible voters in Wisconsin turned out at the polls.

Franklin City Clerk Sandra Weslolowski tells WTMJ-TV Tuesday morning that voters are urged to bring their patience because long lines are expected at the polls, which open at 7 a.m.
