MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state Department of Natural Resources is set to get more information on the 2013 gun deer hunt.
DNR officials are expected to present a report to the Natural Resources Board during a meeting Tuesday detailing results from the nine-day season.
Preliminary data shows the DNR sold about 140 more licenses this year but hunters still killed 7 percent fewer deer than in 2012. The buck harvest was down 15 percent.
DNR officials say cold weather forced many hunters to cut their outings short this year.
