EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Hoping to gather votes, local representatives helped launch the "Wisconsin Women for Obama” campaign Thursday in Eau Claire.
Women for Obama is a coalition of more than 100 women from across the state who are trying to gain support for President Barack Obama.
Former state representative Kristen Dexter and Beverly Wickstrom were at Thursday’s event.
"I think it helps people explain to people throughout the community what women who are in favor of Obama are interested in, concerned about and working on. It helps to generate enthusiasm for that cause, and it just helps to educate the community on some of the issues,” said Wickstrom.
President Obama is scheduled to be in Milwaukee on Saturday.
