WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin woman is fulfilling her lifelong goal of becoming a harpist in part by playing for patients at a Wisconsin Rapids hospital.

Sue Popelka wanted to take harp lessons when she was 8 years old but she says her family couldn't afford it.

She started playing three years ago after her mother died of cancer. She's now an intern with the Music for Healing and Transition Program that includes hours of intensive training.

Popelka plays for two to six hospital patients during visits with her harp named Edna. She says she plays to let patients relax in the moment.
