BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators say the driver who hit and killed a man as he walked on a highway during the weekend was drunk at the time of the crash.

The Polk county Sheriff's Office arrested Jeanne Fisher, 32, of Frederic for Homicide by Intoxicated Driver and Causing Injury by Intoxicated Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 35 near 240th Avenue, near Luck. Chad Hansen (pictured in this story), 34, of Milltown was walking in the southbound lane of highway 35. That's when deputies say a car that Fisher was driving south on highway 35 hit Hansen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday morning, no criminal charges had been filed in the case. Hansen was the Deputy Fire Chief of the Milltown Volunteer Fire Department.
