BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- A northwestern Wisconsin woman is charged with homicide by driving drunk in a crash that killed a pedestrian.
Thirty-three-year-old Jeanne Fisher, of Frederic, was arrested last January after Chad Hansen was struck and killed while walking on Highway 35 in Polk County.
Authorities say Fisher told investigators she was unable avoid striking Hansen because of heavy snow. Detectives say Fisher told them she had consumed four drinks and a shot of liquor at a bar before Hansen was struck.
Fisher's blood alcohol content was about 1 1/2 times the legal limit to drive. Online court records do not list an attorney for Fisher.
