(WEAU)-A woman is dead after a crash in Polk County.
The sheriff's department says it happened on Tuesday around 2:15 p.m. on State Highway 35 north of 240th Avenue in Luck Township.
Deputies say a SUV, driven by Beverly A. Brunberg, 56, of Grantsburg, was traveling northbound on State Highway 35 when her SUV moved left into the southbound lane and hit a truck.
A 23-year-old man had to be extricated from Brunberg's SUV. He was taken to St. Croix Regional Medical Center. Brunberg was also trapped in the SUV. She died from her injuries. The driver of the truck did not have injuries.
The state highway was closed to traffic for about 3.5 hours for the investigation of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Medical Examiners Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
