EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- Feed My People is recognizing Xcel Energy as 'Organization of the Year'.

The food bank presented the award to Xcel Energy during its winter cookout in Eau Claire Tuesday.

Emily Moore, with Feed My People, says Xcel is being recognized for its long-standing 25-year commitment to hunger relief.
During that time, through several employee fundraisers, the company has raised $300,000 dollars for Feed My People.

"The employees do creative fundraising events throughout the year like craft sales, the winter cookout, auctions and so on," said Emily Moore, from Feed My People.

Moore says 700 organizations support Feed My People each year in different ways.
