EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Power is now restored to more than 300 customers affected by an outage Monday afternoon.
Xcel Energy says all residential customers had their power back by about 3:45 p.m. Monday. A sewage plant is still dealing with an outage, but crews are working on fixing the problem.
Xcel says a bad underground cable caused the outage, which started around 1 p.m. Monday.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -A power company is trying to figure out what caused a power outage that has hundreds of customers in the dark.
On Monday afternoon, Xcel Energy said an outage was affecting about 310 customers in the Shawtown neighborhood on the southwest side of Eau Claire. The company has six crews inspecting power lines in hopes of figuring out what caused the outage. Xcel says customers may notice power cutting in and out while crews work to fix the problem. There's no word on when affected customers might be back up and running again.
