Graduate of Ladysmith High School Killed In Iraq

Updated: 05/09/2006 - A 1995 graduate of Ladysmith High School is the latest Wisconsin soldier to die in Iraq. Twenty-nine year old Sgt. Nathan Vacho was killed Friday after an improvised explosive device hit the Humvee he was riding in just south of Baghdad. His family says Sgt. Vacho could have been assigned a much safer position inside Baghdad's green zone but instead chose a more dangerous job where he felt he could do more good. His parents say that decision represents the kind of man their son was. A man always willing to do more.
