There aren't many teachers who can say they've received a national teacher of the year award, but Susan Turgeson of Menomonie is one of them.
The Menomonie High School Food and Nutrition instructor received the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences 2009 National Teacher of the Year award at the 100th annual conference last month in Tennessee. The award recognizes a teacher who uses cutting edge methods, techniques and activities in the classroom.
