A Resident Care Technician (RCT) provides personal care, training and modeling to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness, who may have a dual diagnosis in behavioral & psychiatric conditions, in activities of daily living, socialization, leisure-time activities and motor skill development. The RCT provides appropriate assistance and supervision during workshop and leisure activities, and maintain a home-like and healthy environment. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RCT participates in the assessment of needs, planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation of individual programs. This position is under the close supervision of the Resident Care Supervisor.
Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A well-qualified candidate will have knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to the provision of care and treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities; basic computer skills, including MS Office and electronic mail.
Ability to read, understand and carry out written and oral directions; provide clear and concise directions to others; accurately create and maintain paper and electronic records; assist in lifting/moving up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis; bend, stoop and twist.

After pre-registration, applicants will be contacted by NWC to set up a testing appointment. On-site testing appointments will be 8:00 AM and/or 12:30 PM. Please note: Only 1 computer is available and will be on a first come first serve appointment basis. Applicants will have 4 hours to complete the exam. You may only take this exam once in 6 months. Applicants must bring 2 forms of identification to the exam including a photo ID and signature as well as a copy of your current CNA certification.
We will provide special accommodations for any test taker with a verified disability affecting your ability to take employment tests.
