Eau Claire jumped out to an early lead at Athletic Park. Cole Kalhoun hit a sacrifice fly to left that brought in Brooks Pinckard and the Express were off and rolling.
In the fifth inning, D.J. Anderson grounded to short scoring Landis Ware and doubling the Express lead.
In the bottom of the next inning, that lead disappeared with one swing of the bat... Brent Weaver sent a two-run double to the wall in left field scoring a pair of runs to tie it at 2. In the next inning, the Woodchucks took their first lead of the game, as Chris Wade grounded into a fielder's choice play to bring in the go-ahead run.
The Woodchucks went on to win the game 5-3. Tuesday night, the two teams will meet again at Carson Park in Eau Claire for a game and a half, both playing a regularly scheduled game and making up the season opener that was rained out on May 29th.
