Level Two of the WIAA state football playoffs saw only a handful of teams from Western Wisconsin keep their seasons alive. Both Eau Claire Regis and Chippewa Falls McDonell advanced to Level Three, as the Ramblers beat Bangor, 38-8, while the Macks took down Plum City, 22-0. Meanwhile, each of the Big Rivers Conference co-champs were knocked out Saturday, as Hudson fell to Stevens Point, 28-8, while Menomonie was knocked out by Merrill, 13-6. In high school girls volleyball, Chippewa Falls McDonell cliched its first-ever trip to state with a 3-0 sectional final win over Rib Lake. In Division 1, Eau Claire North fell just short of a berth at state, losing to D.C. Everest, 3-2.
