Children with certain body abnormalities may have a higher risk for cancer.

Researchers in Amsterdam studied over a thousand pediatric cancer patients and compared them to children without the disease.

They found children with major abnormalities, like curvature of the spine and arms and legs with different lengths, were significantly more likely to have cancer.

Researchers say the genetic defects that lead to body abnormalities may play a role in the development of cancer.

Your elders might be the reason for being at a higher risk for colon cancer.

A study of two large families in Utah and New York finds they both carry a specific genetic mutation responsible for their increased risk for colon cancer.

And both families share common ancestors that can be traced back to a married couple who sailed from England to America around the year 1630.

Experts say colonoscopies and other preventive measures can help reduce the risk for colon cancer and find any abnormalities as early as possible.
