A study suggests some kids might be able to avoid a hospitalization, if they are treated differently during another trip to the hospital.

The research from Seattle Children's Hospital included data on kids hospitalized with complications from the flu. Overall, 23% who were in the hospital with the flu and another illness had a previous hospitalization during flu season.

Researchers suggest that first visit to the hospital could provide the perfect opportunity to vaccinate kids against the flu

A new study from the US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention explores the possible effects of alcohol use among young teens.

Researchers examined behaviors in a high-risk school district and found 35% of students said they'd tried alcohol beverages before their 13th birthday.

Drinking this early was strongly associated with dating violence and suicidal behavior among high-risk kids.
