A private report released this week says more than a quarter of Wisconsinites are obese, placing the state 25th in the nation.
The heaviest state is Mississippi, where almost 32 percent of people are considered obese. People in Colorado are the leanest, with an obesity rate of 18 percent.
Nationally, adult obesity rates rose in 37 states in the past year. No state saw a decrease despite campaigns promoting exercise and good nutrition
