Long-term alcohol abuse can lead to a condition called "Alcoholic Lung."

A study in rats from Emory University shows chronic alcohol abuse can have a profound effect on pulmonary health. Researchers said alcoholism disrupts proteins that keep fluids out of the lung, lowers levels of a protective antioxidant and disrupts the immune system. All of this can lead to "Alcoholic Lung" according to doctors, leaving the user more susceptible to illnesses such as pneumonia.

For those men who do become parents, a new study shows how influential dads are on their kids' language development.

University of North Carolina Researchers said in families with two working parents, fathers had a greater impact than mothers on their children's language skills between age two and three. The key was dads who had strong vocabularies. Researchers say their findings show the importance of the role fathers can have in their kids' language development.
