It's a risk factor for heart disease, but it doesn't necessarily mean there's plaque building up in your arteries.

Now there's a new simple test that can tell you in a matter of minutes if your arteries are in the clear.

Cardiologist Donna Polk is now using this new test on patients in her preventative cardiology program.

It's an ultrasound done on the carotid artery called an IMT.

The ultrasound gives doctors a good idea what's happening to the vessels surrounding your heart.
