Experts say parents should be getting kids ready for back to school. Health experts from the University of North Carolina say parents should watch for any signs of school phobia or separation anxiety.
Although a new school year can cause extreme anxiety, fear and stress for some children, you can help by reassuring them and not giving in to their desire to stay home.
Also be sure to get back to an earlier, regular bedtime to be sure your child is getting enough sleep.
And children who are on the short-end of the height scale are no different from their taller peers in terms of popularity, and are no more likely to be depressed. According to a study by researchers at the University of Michigan, parents are often concerned having a short child will subject them to ridicule. While this study showed shorter children reported higher rates of teasing it did not affect their mental well-being.
