Veteran’s Day is a day to give special thanks and honor those who have served and are serving our country.
One way people can honor our veterans is by donating to Unmet Needs. It’s a program that helps military families in need while a loved one serves overseas.
Now through December 7th, Burger King restaurants in the area are accepting cash donations for the Unmet Needs Program.
If you donate, you'll get a coupon for a free food item at Burger King along with your name posted on the wall showing you made a contribution for military families.
Those who donated on Veteran’s Day also got a day pass to Chaos Waterpark in Eau Claire.
The Unmet Needs Program is trying to raise one million dollars.
Organizers say most of the money keeps a roof over the families' heads. About 55% of that money goes toward rent and mortgage payments.
Money raised in the state will stay to help military families in Wisconsin.
