City-Wide Thrift Sale kicks off Friday

(WEAU) - Organizers of the Azura Memory Care's City-Wide Thrift Sale say they've surpassed their goal in raising money for the Alzheimer's Association.

Azura Memory Care's City-Wide Thrift Sale kicked off Friday at The Shed in Altoona.

The thrift sale continued Saturday where peopled checked out some gently used clothes, along with household goods, and decorations.

Organizers say they raised $6,073.47 which surpassed their goal of $6,000.

Organizers say all the proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Paula Gibson with Azura Memory Care told us Friday "We wanted to find a give back to the community, and help these with memory loss, and it’s grown into something this big. It’s literally a circus tent and we've been doing this and it’s wonderful.

Also, Azura Memory Care will be hosting the first ever "Unforgettable Volunteer Flash Mob" on Saturday from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at the Sale site.
