OK ...I'll try again. Apparently our judges in Madison were to busy signing recall petitions against out elected Gov. They must have missed the memo.

2 points to make here. #1. There is nothing in the constitution that says we need an id to vote. If there was, I'd sure like to see George Washingtons ID. #2. I was born in Chicago almost 40 years ago. If I needed an ID, I'd have to get a birth certificate. The last time I ordered one from Cook County, it took over 3 months for them to find and mail it. Can you imagine how long it would take if I was 80? Then after getting it, I'd have to wait another month to get it in the mail from California. And for those of you who don't know, your drivers license is now mailed from there. Now we're looking at 4 months to actually have the ID in my hand. So anyway, the voter ID law is a joke and was only put in place after Walker figured out that the vast majority of the state wanted his head on a stick.

Not the Wisconsin law.

So in other words, only some people should be allowed to vote, and your fine with that?

Where in Gods green does it say we have to wear clothes in public? Where does it say we should shower on occasion? I guess some things just make sense! And that includes being able to identify yourself

In Walker's case it is life, luxury and the pursuit of Washington.

Pretty sure it's both.

Or there needs to be a provision to grandfather in the elderly who have been on voting rosters their entire adult lives but no longer have photo id's because they don't have driver's licenses and have no birth certificates to get a photo id. I know it's hard for younger people to understand, but a lot of elderly people where born at home and there was never a birth certificate applied for. If you have ever worked with the elderly you know this is true.

Awwwwwwe...and they were counting on all those democrats not being able to vote in the recall, too bad for the Pro Walker Squawkers.

No Jeff, they don't need a photo ID.

Rainbird, she can vote with an absentee ballot

Ann, don't think it is LARGE blocks merely a segment. What is wrong with showing proof of who you are...you do it when you cash a check, buy beer or smokes...no big deal, unless there are people trying to fraudulently vote.

Interesting, because I too had to show a photo ID to register to vote when I moved to Eau Claire.

Not even one DMV center was closed. In fact, they are reopening centers that were closed under Doyle and have done away with the forced furlough days from the last administration.

So... the ID law will be completely ineffective because large blocks of the population are exempt anyway. Way to waste more taxpayer money for no good reason.
