We're all talking about jobs,right? The city should trade lots,keep 5Star here in the city. They provide many jobs and those employees pay there taxes to the city of EauClaire and the state of WI. As a employee of 5Star I would follow the company to Kansas and take my money we me.The city should think about this.
Another whiner.
This company just expanded 2 years ago. I think a low interest loan is more on the lines. Dont think there are going to move. If they are bussiness must be good and that means they can afford the land.
They don't own the lot right next door.. the city does.. 5 Star own a non adjoining lot..They want to trade..
Better be careful, the recallers will be waiting to pounce and scream "Unfair" because you gave a company a break in an attempt to help them expand their business and create jobs!
WHY would the council not consider a land trade if it means keeping jobs in the community?
what do you mean by swapping? If they are doing well enough to expand they can pay for the land....this is garbage if companies are going to start threating cities for freebies or say they will leave, oh wait it works for Menards...neverming. WI OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Definitely make the deal. Why wouldn't we. It makes more sense than letting jobs go to another state!! Go for it!!! Who ever came up with the idea should be commended.
sounds like a no brainer, swap the land.
5 star is surrounded by an empty lot, it would be a shame if we lost out on this expansion.
