Intimidate, how are you being intimidated? What name would you like me to use? Anything that I put down you will assume is fake. I could be Tim, Sue, Matt, Cari, or even a Barb. And why are you still not answering the question about being employed again? Thank you for feeling sorry for me as I feel sorry for you with your need lack of understanding and accepting other peoples opinions for what they are.

Red state Diane..."If you don't like it..leave!" Pretty well read.

I lost my benefits because they ran out. I use my own name (unlike "Anonymous") -- any more than that, no one needs to know. But people like you who hide behind anonymity and try to intimidate others, are cruel people with little understanding and even less compassion. I feel sorry for you.

Let's explore your disingenuous post. You say they have added jobs since January 2010. Great. Not relevant to the tax increase, however, since it went into effect in January 2011. BLS numbers show a net increase in jobs March 2011 to March 2012, of 32,500. Pretty comparable to WI, except when you consider they have double our population. Hence their miserably high unemployment rate. Then look at the tax increase itself. Immediately upon passing, the Chicago Board of Trade, Caterpillar, Motorola, and others, all threatened to leave the state. So Illinois gave all of them gigantic tax credits to stay. Everybody else, well, they have to pay it. Not exactly the 'sticking up for the little guy' narrative that Democrats love to spin. More like sticking it to the little guy. Then look at the results of the tax increase. Within the year it was passed, their budget was already in deficit. They just had to pass a new tax hike, and once again they are saying that will fix everything. You're right -- I don't get it.

But Barb you didn't answer the question. Are you not employed again? And I am pretty sure that everyone on here has a good idea of who you are with all of you posts over the last year or so.

Obviously, Anonymous, you think you know who I am. And, obviously, you are wrong. Actually, my benefits ran out in February and it had nothing to do with being employed or unemployed. They simply ran out. You see, people can't get unemployment forever.

Barb correct me if I am wrong but your unemployment benefits should end when you become employed. Are you no longer employed again?

I trust unions a lot more than I trust corporations.

Diane, stop flinging mud. Florida tried this and it was an epic failure. You need to do some research before you talk.

You can't just create a job without there being a need for the job, or it won't last. It's a chain reaction, one that isn't going to be circumvented. If people aren't able to spend, they won't purchase the product; if people don't purchase the product, the need to produce that product remains the same or decreases; if production decreases, sales decrease; if sales decrease, the need for employees decreases. Am I incorrect in thinking that the focus needs to be on either decreasing our cost of living or increasing salaries? Tax breaks to big corporations to encourage job creation do nothing to increase Joe Public's ability to purchase the product.

Lauren, I understand you likely don't watch anything other than Fox News or listen to far right wing radio, but you MUST start getting smart. Here is a FACT, because facts still matter. Illinois has added 140,700 private sector jobs since January 2010. This is according ACTUAL BLS NUMBERS. Please Google it. You will see. That is FAR more than Walker could do. And you are right, they raised taxes in IL. Shocking isn't it. Righties will never get it. And sadly, Wisconsin is crumbling thanks to Tea Party morons.
