When I went thru there on July 1 there was a little bump there nothing like it was on the video. I would like to know why the state trooper that patrols that section of the highway didn't advise the highway department working on the bridge about the payment

Another clueless lib. It was Doyle who raided the transportation funds. Look it up...then again, have somebody do it for you.

What is the purpose of the Walker reference? Do you think it was Governor Walker who suddenly started the business of contracting out for major repairs in the state? Nope! Besides, if the government HAD built the roads themselves, I'll bet you would be the same person who then would be belly aching about "There ain't no construction jobs out there"!

The State hasn't been 'flush' with money for more than a decade. Thanks to changes at the Federal level the State (revenues) never really recovered from the 2000 recession.

The bump sign was placed when it was actually just a bump! It took some time for it to buckle to this extent, and another poster was right it does not appear that the SUV even tried to slow down. No brake lights in the video.

Yes...less government = less safety!

Does anyone know how this happened to be caught on tape? Was this planned?

All of the pavement blow-ups I've seen, basically crumble the concrete, not make it into a gigantic jump. I agree that the bump sign was proper for the time. A little common sense by the driver of the vehicle in the clip, and they wouldn't have gone airborne. You can definitely see the pavement is messed up, along with the GIANT ORANGE SIGN indicating something is going on.
