EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - An official ribbon cutting event celebrating the new Eau Claire County Jail was held Tuesday night.
The $34.5 million project will provide jail staff with more space, convenience and security. People representing the city, the county, the contractor and the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department took part in the ceremony.
Sherriff Ron Cramer says he hopes the jail can open by the last week of August.
