Walker releases ad touting job growth

Reporter: AP

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker's latest television ad in the recall campaign touts job growth in Wisconsin.

Walker's campaign says the ad began airing Friday, but did not say in what markets. It comes on the heels of two attack ads Walker released Thursday against Democratic opponents Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.

In the new ad, Walker touts the fact that Wisconsin has added more than 17,000 private sector jobs in the first two months of this year.

But what the ad doesn't mention is that taking into account job losses from last year, the total number of private sector jobs created since Walker took office in 2011 is 8,100.

Walker promised to create 250,000 jobs by 2015.
