Vintage baseball season to start at Wis. museum

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Huzzah! Old World Wisconsin's vintage baseball team is back.

The Eagle Diamonds open their season June 2 at home against the Milwaukee Cream Citys. They'll be off for the rest of June and resume their schedule on July 14 with a home game against the Milwaukee Grays. They'll play five more games, finishing the season on Aug. 25.

Players follow 1860s-era rules, which means no gloves, foul balls don't count as strikes and balls caught on the first bounce count as outs.

Old World Wisconsin comprises more than 65 historic buildings relocated from around the state and represents the material and cultural history of nearly a dozen ethnic groups. It's located just outside Eagle.
