Full Body Scanner fully operational at La Crosse Municipal Airport

LA CROSSE (WEAU) - In February TSA was still trying to work out the bugs and train staff. Now the Full Body Scanner is fully operational with little problems.

Since installing the machine TSA has seen only positive feedback. Lines have gotten shorter and overall the passengers seem to be happy.

"I don't think it's bad at all. I think it was very easy to go through," said Airport Passenger, Jeolyn Chadwick.

La Crosse Municipal Airport is 1 out of 165 airports to have a Full Body Scanner nation wide.

"Reagan National Airport doesn't have the full body scanners. It surprised me that La Crosse would have it and not D.C." said Airport Passenger, Debi Schubert.

TSA says they are using a new Advanced Imaging Technology software that shows any potential threat items detected on a generic outline of a person.

Passengers can choose whether or not they want to go through the Full Body Scanner. The second option would be an alternative screening that includes a pat down.

99% choose the Full Body Scanner over the alternative.

TSA also says the machine uses technology that is safe for all passengers.
