EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – We’ll soon learn about a donor’s “significant pledge of monetary support” to the proposed Confluence Project in downtown Eau Claire.
The UW-Eau Claire Foundation says the announcement is scheduled for Wednesday morning. It says the gift will give the donor the right to name a venue in the community arts center of the project.
The foundation says the donor will answer questions at a news conference scheduled for the announcement on Wednesday.
The $80,000,000+ Confluence Project is a public-private partnership. The plan is to build a new community arts center, and a commercial/retail complex with university student housing at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire River. Construction could start later this year, and could be finished in 2016.
