Former Wisconsin Badger and current Cleveland Brown standout tackle Joe Thomas was in Eau Claire Thursday, and likes the idea of blocking for 1st round draft pick Trent Richardson.
Thomas is in town for the the Chippewa Valley council Boy Scouts leadership dinner. His Browns team looked to improve themselves through the draft this past week as the drafted running back Trent Richardson and quarterback Brandon Weeden in the first round . Thomas is hopeful that this is the year that the Browns turn things around in the always tough AFC North.
"I am really excited, we have a lot of the pieces that we are starting to put in place, the coaching staff, we have a excellent running back in Trenton Richardson. I am just really excited about getting out their in the off-season and the OTA's and putting the team together on the field. The AFC north is perennially one of the toughest divisions in pro football. I definitely think we are going to be able to compete with the teams at the top of our division this year."
