Local chiropractor heading to Olympics

LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) – Imagine being on the sidelines at the Summer Olympic Games as Team USA goes for the gold.

Later this week, a local chiropractor will travel to London, England to do just that.

A chiropractor at Hallie Chiropractic for the past eight years, Dr. Kevin Schultz says he’s ready to take his skills across the pond to the 2012 Olympic Games.

“Everyone who has been there say it's indescribable, just the energy in the air,” Dr. Schultz said.

Dr. Schultz said he’s getting the opportunity through a network of chiropractors he belongs to called Maximized Living.

And since the group is the wellness provider for USA Wrestling, the Lake Hallie chiropractor will be giving adjustments to athletes in Greco-Roman wrestling.

He said the adjustments will help the Olympians avoid injury.

“Most of the athletes, they want to get adjusted right after they go out on the mat and right away after. And they see tremendous changes when they get this kind of care on a consistent basis,” Dr. Schultz said.

Although it will be his first Olympics and trip to the United Kingdom, the Chippewa Valley native said he’s up for the challenge of working with the athletes.

“And they're just laser focused with everything they do and I think that's going to be elevated going to the Olympics,” Dr. Schultz said.

Dr. Drew Kaminiski is another local chiropractor who will be heading to London to care for the wrestlers.

Dr. Schultz said they’re honored to be representing Wisconsin on the global stage.

He said they also hope to learn new techniques at the games.

“Now we bring that back to our community and we're able to work more local athletes and teams here as well,” Dr. Schultz said.
