The Eau Claire Express fall 8-1 at the hands of the Madison Mallards (8/4/12)

The Madison Mallards (34-28) pounded the Eau Claire Express (23-39) on Saturday 8-1 at Carson Park.

The Madison Mallards scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Tyler Marincov, an error, a fielder's choice, and an RBI double by Nicholas Howard.

Mitch Elliot racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Madison Mallards. He homered in the third inning.

Nick Sutherland struck out six, paving the way for a the Madison Mallards win. Sutherland allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over seven innings.

Matt Trowbridge (3-3) took the loss for the Eau Claire Express. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked six and struck out three.
