Cardinals looking to get back on top

5 years ago, Eleva-Strum was on the top of the high school football mountain as they won a state championship. They hope this year is they return to the top.

The Cardinals are looking to Chad Hanson to turn the team around. Hanson led Greenwood-Granton to a championship last year and is an alumni of Eleva-Strum high school.
Last year the Cardinals went 3-6 overall and have not had a winning season since 2008, but Hanson has have high hopes this year.

"Trying to get back to where Eleva-Strum football was back in 2007 as being the state champions. Our goal is to get back to that. We're making changes offensively, defensively, special teams. When people come and watch us that first Thursday against Elk Mound, they'll see a completely different football team out on the field."

While Jacob Rogness says the players are ready to get back on the winning side of games.

"Growing up everyone always thought that we were gonna be the next big class and we've kind of been disappointed the last couple of years. We haven't really won any football games and we're hoping to get back on track and hopefully leave us with competing for the conference championship and winning a couple of playoff games hopefully."
