Blugolds men's hockey to host NCHA playoff game

The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team returned to practice Monday as they prepare for this Saturday's NCHA Peter's Cup semifinal against River Falls at Hobbs Ice Center. The Blugolds captured their first ever NCHA regular season crown and for the first time in program history will host a home playoff game.
Senior goalie Brandon Stephenson talked about playing in front of their hometown fans, "It's awesome. My four years here our goal every year has been to get home ice. This is our first time doing it. And like I said, playing in front of the crowd is always special, if it's a big crowd like it was against St. Norbert. It's going to be a fun night and hopefully we can get a 'W'."
Senior forward Jordan Singer says the Blugolds have to leave it all on the ice, "We only have one night, we have to leave it all out there after one night. It's not a series, so I mean just playing one game, it's a big deal. It's playoff hockey, you're always going to expect a tight game no matter who you play. Especially River, they're a good team and they've got a great goalie back there. We know it's going to be a tight game, it's going to be a tough battle and I'm excited."
