Alice in Dairyland on hand for Clark County tree-cutting event

Olson also traveled to Dutch Dairy in Thorp on Friday to discuss their work and partnership with Mead Lake and the Watershed.  She is also touring Holland's Family Cheese Plant and going to its new location for a groundbreaking ceremony Friday afternoon.

NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The reigning Alice in Dairyland attended a tree-cutting event in our area to showcase the importance of Wisconsin's Christmas tree farming industry.

Kristin Olson, who serves as Wisconsin's Alice in Dairyland, joined 4th graders from Neillsville Elementary School at the Robert Knoop Tree Farm on County Road G in Neillsville Friday. Alice in Dairyland is the state's agricultural ambassador, and teaches people about the value of Christmas tree farming to the state's economy.

Clark County is the host county for the 2014 Alice in Dairyland Finals Selection Process. Because of that, Olson visits Clark County every month during her year-long assignment.
