Walker is struggling to deliver on his campaign pledge to create 250,000 jobs during his first term. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in June the state gained 62,000 private-sector jobs during the first two years of his term, which began in January 2011.

MIDDLETON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says he plans to introduce a package of legislation focusing on economic development next week.

Walker said during a question-and-answer period with reporters following a speech he gave Thursday to the Transportation Development Association in Middleton that the bills would improve the state's economy. He said some of the proposals will deal with state technical colleges and helping the disabled find work. He didn't go into any further detail.
