Waupaca authorities ID man thrown from boat

WAUPACA, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in Waupaca County have identified a 41-year-old Illinois man killed when a boat being pulled by a truck flipped over.

The sheriff's department identifies the man Monday as James Wall of Orchard Park. He and a 13-year-old boy were riding in the boat on Saturday afternoon when it flipped over. Authorities say Wall sustained massive head injuries and died at the scene.

The 13-year-old boy was also ejected from the boat but did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

WAUPACA, Wis. (AP) -- Investigators in Waupaca County say a boat that was being towed by a truck flipped over, causing one person to die of serious head injuries.

The sheriff's department says two people were riding in the boat Saturday afternoon. It was on a trailer that was being towed by a pickup truck.

At some point the boat flipped over, ejecting both people. One person died at the scene, and the other was unhurt.

The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on tentative charges of driving while intoxicated.

Authorities haven't released the victim's name.
