An Eau Claire State Patrol Trooper received an award today for risking his life to try and save another.
Trooper Justin Glasener received the Meritorious Service Award from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in a ceremony Wednesday in Madison. Glasener responded to a two vehicle crash in august of last year and tried to pull a trapped man out of a burning vehicle.
The patrol says after the efforts were not successful, Trooper Glasener cleared a lane to allow firefighters access to the vehicle so they could remove the body.
