Preliminary Deer Numbers

For the nineteen county area, going from Crawford county, up the river to St. Croix, and then up to Portage, the number of deer harvested this year is up.
In 2003, 101,076 deer were taken. This year 109,946 deer were harvested, and these are just the preliminary results.
The numbers will now go to Madison, where all the regions around Wisconsin will be added up. Bob Michelson, from the Wisconsin DNR also says that it's too early to make any decisions on weather more or less earn-a-buck & t-zone units will be around next year.
