Cory Reule, 18, is being charged with a felony account of threats to injure, as well as a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.
Reule initially denied writing the letter that threatened to kill his classmates and himself.
Eventually, he confessed, claiming he was sick of watching kids being harassed and picked on.
If found guilty, Reule could face up to six years in prison or a $10,000 fine.
