A former teacher's aide in Polk County faces criminal charges for having sex with a student.
Investigators say 39-year-old Brenda Baillargeon worked at the Amery High School. That's where the 16 year-old boy she's accused of assaulting went to school.
Baillargeon now faces 3 counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and 2 counts of child enticement with sexual contact.
Court documents show she and the 16 year-old boy had sex ten times and were engaged to be married. Court records show the teen's mother got a restraining order against Baillargeon, but the relationship continued.
The Amery School Administrator tells us she resigned September 27th and hasn't been back to school since. He says while no one is happy about this situation, he wants parents to know they have a safe school.
Stephen Schiell says, "our schools are safe, have always been safe. Our number one concern is our kids, our students learning, and that's what we've been doing in Amery for many, many years and we will continue to do that for many years, and we're always worried about our kids."
The Polk County Sheriff says as of Thursday evening Baillargeon was still in jail on $10,000 dollars bond. She will make her initial court appearance Friday morning.
