Candidates Go; Voters Show

Voters across Wisconsin and in Eau Claire stood in line early this morning to cast ballots in this year's presidential election.

Statewide, elections officials are predicting about a 75% voter turnout. In Eau Claire local officials are predicting anywhere from an 87% to 92% turnout. In Eau Claire lines were seen at several polling places when polls opened at 7:00 o'clock this morning. Also, Eau Claire officials said early voting on Monday alone exceeded 1,500 voters.

Meanwhile, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry concluded his entire campaign with a brief stop in La Crosse, and then flew back to Boston to watch the returns. Republican vice presidential candidate Dick Cheney makes a stop in Waukesha today as well.
