Election Wrap Up

Eau Claire County clerk Janet Loomis says based on census information, 75 percent of those that were eligible cast their votes for Tuesday's election.

"I didn't really hear of any problems, I know they were busy but I also heard from voters that said things moved along. They thought things were well organized," says Loomis.

About 55,000 people voted in Tuesday's general election, which is up from 48,000 in the 2000 election.

Loomis says presidential elections generally have the highest turnouts and Eau Claire County was prepared for this election. Tuesday's turnout is just short of the record that was set in 1992.
