There have been more deer harvest this year, than at this time last year. Every county in the region is reporting an increase in the number of deer killed. Eau Claire county is up from 1,524 to 1,999, and Chippewa County is up from 2,138 to 2,626. The increase of deer harvest is said to be due to the mild weather and the activity of deer becuase of the rut.
